Conclusion
In short, this console is a great option to give to young children who want to get started in video games, being a very affordable gift and that will make a lot of enthusiasm. The most enthusiastic, however, will find a console full of limitations, without being able to save games, with list of games messy, and wanting to play many other classic titles of the console. In hardware the console is great (in addition to including two controls), but a more polished software and with more options would have made it an undoubted purchase for retro fans.

Today we bring you a list with twelve subscription services to get games in console and PC. These services can be of two types, those that are "giving away" different games each month in exchange for the subscription and those that give you access to a wide range of games in exchange for a periodic payment.


The good news is that there are subscription services available on consoles and computers. In consoles are almost always official services offered by manufacturers, with some exception as Xbox has some more, while PC have several types of proposals and philosophies to choose from.

Services for video game consoles
Let's start talking about the services you can use in the different video consoles to get games in exchange for a monthly subscription. Most are official services, and both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch have to settle for a single alternative in Spain. However, the Xbox One has up to three different services.

PlayStation 4 has PlayStation Plus
And we started with Sony, which offers users of their consoles several free games in exchange for paying their subscription to PlayStation Plus. The cost of this Sony subscription starts at eight euros per month, and in exchange for paying you can play online with your video game console, access exclusive offers and receive two or three games every month completely free. This is the only service you have in Spain, since the PlayStation Now subscription is not yet available, although when it arrives we will be attentive to tell you about it.
The games are different every month, and you will not receive them retroactively but you will have to "buy them for free" every month they are offered. The quality of the titles that is given is variable, with some months with good proposals and others quite weak. In addition to PlayStation 4, games are also given for PlayStation 3 and Vita, and if you abandon the subscription you will lose all the games or become demos.

Nintendo Switch has its online with classic games
Nintendo is also content to have its own online service with free games in exchange for a subscription, but in this case they do not give you games every month but they give you access to a catalog of titles. This is the Nintendo Switch Online service, which for four euros a month allows you to play online, save data in the cloud, use your mobile application and access a catalog of classic games.
That's right, the Nintendo flat rate does not give you access to Switch games, but allows you to play NES classics like Balloon Fight, Baseball, Excitebike, Ice Climber, Super Mario Bros 1 and 3 or The Legend of Zelda. Of course, if you leave the subscription you will no longer be able to access the games, although the data in the cloud will remain in the memory of the console.
